Friday Inspirations, Episode 2 :)

Happy Friday, Generous Changers!

A few thoughts as you finish up your work week...

Quote we're digging: Seems we're all struggling with work/life balance these days. Here's a nice little reminder:

"Time is the coin of your life. You spend it. Do not allow others to spend it for you."                                                                                         - Carl Sandberg

Tricky, but transformative, to remember that you own your time and only you can give it away. We may or may not be great at this, but we're working on it!

We're wowed by: water.org's collaboration with Stella Artois. Buy a specially designed Stella chalice on Amazon for $13, and Stella makes a donation that provides clean water for someone in the developing world for five years. Five years, people! That is one smart partnership...something we'll perhaps see more of given the below.

We applaud: Blackrock CEO Larry Fink, a $6 trillion asset manager (who knew there was such a thing?), wrote a pretty amazing letter to CEO's of public companies. In it, he says,

"Society is demanding that companies, both public and private, serve a social purpose...Today, our clients – who are your company’s owners – are asking you to demonstrate the leadership and clarity that will drive not only their own investment returns, but also the prosperity and security of their fellow citizens. We look forward to engaging with you on these issues."

Dang!

We're watching: The Darkest Hour. A friend called this movie "slow," but I so dug it. Amazing reminder that a) one person can make a truly remarkable difference, b) courage matters, c) sometimes changemakers are the least likely folks, d) timing is everything.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend!
